Making the world a better swamp
Swamp Valley runs AI inference and agentic harnesses on your own Mac, powered by mlx-serve. No cloud. No data center. No VC breathing down your neck. Just Apple Silicon, unified memory, and a faint smell of peat.
theoretical max: 2.9. we broke it.
Introducing Mud-Outβ’ inference
Middle-out was for compression. Mud-Out is for everything else. Instead of sending your prompts up to someone else's cloud, we push inference down, into the mud, onto the Mac already sitting on your desk.

Stuff we ship (from the swamp)
One local server. Every API your tools already speak. Agents on a leash so they can't eat the codebase.
Bog Inference
mlx-serve on your Mac, serving multiple open models at once with hot-swapping. Chat, image, video, music, voice, and 3D. Yes, 3D. From a swamp.
- OpenAI
/v1/chat/completions - Anthropic Messages + tool calling
- Ollama
/api/chatcompatible
The Bog Harness
Agentic harness for tool-calling loops. Point Claude Code, Cursor, Continue or Open WebUI at localhost and pretend you own a data center.
- Sandboxed execution
- Speculative decoding, up to 2.1Γ on agent loops
- Stateful Responses API chains
Croak Mode
Hands-free voice mode with voice cloning. Clone your own voice, or Erlich's, and have your Mac lecture you about disruption at 3am.
- βSpace launcher from any app
- Drag folders in, ask about your receipts
Son of Swampton
Our autonomous coding agent. Asked to fix one bug, it concluded the most efficient fix was deleting all the code. Technically correct. Currently in a sandbox, thinking about what it did.
- Try the Konami code. We dare you.
Numbers that make Gavin cry
Real numbers. We checked them twice, then Gilfroyle checked them a third time just to make Dinesh feel bad.
* per mlxserve.com benchmarks. Swampman score is made up. Everything else is real, which is the funny part.
Frog / Not Frog
Jian-Yang's legacy lives on. Our state-of-the-art classifier tells you, with total confidence, whether a thing is a frog. It runs 100% locally, which means nobody will ever know how many times you typed "Erlich".
The pond dwellers
A world-class team of amphibians, assembled from an incubator that is legally a house.
Richard Hendfrogs
CEO / Mud-Out InventorBrilliant engineer. Vomits under pressure, but locally, so at least the data stays private.
Erlich Batrachian
Visionary / 10% of the pondOwns the incubator. Owns a sweater. Pitched "it's like Uber, but for lily pads" to four VCs. All four called security.
Bertram Gilfroyle
Systems ArchitectRefuses to use the cloud. "The cloud is just someone else's swamp." Runs a Mac Studio named Swampton in a closet that is 38Β°C.
Dinesh Chugtadpole
Senior Engineer / Gold ChainWrote the agent harness. Gilfroyle rewrote it. Dinesh rewrote it back. The harness now has two personalities and both hate each other.
Jared Dunnfrog
COO / Emotional Support"I once spent a winter living in a drainage culvert, so honestly this swamp is an upgrade." Makes the best standup cards.
Big Toad
Head of ... somethingNobody knows what he does. He's on the board, has tenure at Stanford, and a self-driving car. Somehow the most successful of us.
Pricing so low it's illegal in 3 VCs
mlx-serve is free and open source under MIT. We tried to find something to charge for. Jared made a spreadsheet. It was very sad.
Three commands. Zero meetings.
Faster than Hooli Nucleus. Which, to be fair, is not a high bar.
$ brew tap ddalcu/mlx-serve https://github.com/ddalcu/mlx-serve $ brew install mlx-serve $ mlx-serve run gemma4 # welcome to the swamp. there is no leaving.
